About Us

ProStar was established to produce quality trailers at a reasonable price. The concept behind our well-designed trailers came from Jim Shannon, who found it difficult to locate a utility trailer that would last a lifetime. With this concept in mind, Jim, an engineer by profession, began designing and building prototypes to meet this standard.

In early 2004, Jim with his brother Dave, a sales/marketing specialist and their father Bob, a retired businessman, formed ProStar. They began establishing a dealer network both in Ohio and surrounding states. Now ProStar distributes trailers to dealers in most states east of the Mississippi River.

In the early years, ProStar produced utility trailers, car haulers, and deckover trailers. Since then, they have expanded their lines into dumps, ATVs, motorcycle haulers, landscapers, just to name a few. In fact, our quality designs have lead us into specialty markets such as a trailer for satellite dishes for telecommunications.

Our commitment is to design and build a trailer that would represent the best value within its category. As such, ProStar constantly asks the question, "Can you buy a better trailer for the same price?"
